This workshop with Lara Gilles aims to cover everything you need to know about beauty photography and high end retouching. She will show you how to create the perfect beauty image: the best lenses and equipment for beauty photography, how to use the right camera settings for portraits and close ups, how to work with different lighting setups and how to guide the model.

After the photoshoot, we will jump right into the retouching part. Lara will lead you through her retouching workflow, from using Capture One to explaining the important tools in Photoshop, she will cover everything you need to know to create a professionally retouched image. You will get a deep insight to skin retouching, color correction and color grading the image and how Lara creates her significant color look.

About the mentor

 

Lara Gilles is a photographer and retoucher based in Germany, focusing on beauty and fashion. She has worked for several international beauty companies and fashion brands and has shot their latest campaigns or lookbooks.

Next to her significant creative beauty images, she also loves to capture clean skincare looks, which are published worldwide in a variety of magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Glamour to name a few.

Her retouching clients include her latest job for JBL featuring Khalid or hair and glasses campaigns for big companies next to other well-known photographers.

Course Content

In this intense one-day workshop we will cover beauty photography and high end retouching. You will get to know how Lara shoots her beauty images, what angles to use, the best camera settings and equipment for beauty photography and different lighting setups using one or two lights.

After the shooting part, she will lead you through her retouching workflow. First of all, she will explain how she processes and prepares her pictures in Capture One, before exporting the files to Photoshop. Then she will show you the important settings and tools in Photoshop (brush settings, clone stamp tool, healing brush etc.) and the magic of high end retouching: dodge & burn. You will get a deep insight to skin retouching – how to use the healing brush and the clone stamp tool the right way, without overdoing the retouching. We will also take care of color correction and how to color grade the image – so you will have an impression on how Lara creates her significant color look.

WORKSHOP FEE

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the ill-fated event if you wish to cancel your booking after the payment, you will receive a credit note that can be used to avail of any of our services listed on our website, for:

a) 100% of the amount if you cancel before 30 days of the Workshop date,
or
b) 50% of the amount if you cancel before 15 days of the Workshop date

No credit note will be issued for canceling 2weeks prior to the Workshop date or for failing to attend the Workshop without prior intimation, and no cash refunds will be made under any circumstances.

    • I am a complete beginner in makeup. Is this Masterclass recommended for me? Of course! GlamFlame always plans it’s workshops in such a way that both beginners and professionals can attend it. 
    • Do I have to bring my camera kit ? No. It’s a look and learn workshop.

    • What should I get to the Workshop?

    • I have paid for the Workshop but cannot attend. Can I get a refund?
