    • I don’t have a DSLR and have only a compact digital camera. Will this Workshop still be useful for me?Yes. The fundamental concepts of digital photography are common to DSLR and compact digital cameras, so it will still be useful, and you’ll be able to try a majority of the discussed concepts practically if your compact camera has manual controls. However, in order to make the most out of the Workshop, we recommend you hire a DSLR .

      • 50mm or 35mm prime lens (a 24-70 zoom will also work, but keep in mind you will be shooting at higher ISO’s, due to the more narrow aperture)
      • A macro lens is not required, but recommended, as we will be doing macro work for both newborns and older babies.

MY STORY:  My name is Jeff Brown, I’m a full time professional photographer and photography marketing consultant. Having a keen interest in photography since I was 12 years old I went on become a Military Photographer in the Royal Navy photographing many high profile jobs including members of the Royal Family and various Heads of State. After 10 years of service I left Royal Navy to set-up my own Wedding and Portrait Photography business back home in the North East of England. At first I really struggled getting my name out, so I decided to invest in a few marketing courses to help me build my business.

Over the next two years I attended a great many more business marketing courses and social media seminars ran by some of the UK’s leading marketing specialists, although the investments were high (many of the top courses costing over £3,000) the results paid off.

In my first year the business turnover over just £30,000 by the second year it had hit £100,000 and I was already setting up a separate commercial photography company and starting to break into the school and nursery photography sector, by the third year we were doing around 80 weddings a year, 70 school / nurseries and nearly 1,000 portraits in the studio, employing a team of 7 staff and a full time telesales marketer.

Over the years I’ve continued to expand my marketing knowledge reading countless books on web design, email marketing, blogging, SEO management and referral marketing techniques. I’ve gone on to help and advise 1000’s photographers like yourself break into the industry and make a real financial success of their business.
